Puka Shell Beach: Boracay's Untamed Northern Shore

At the northern tip of Boracay, far from the activity of White Beach, Puka Shell Beach offers a different kind of beauty — wider, wilder, and surprisingly peaceful for an island that handles millions of tourists annually. Named after the naturally occurring puka shells scattered along its shore, the beach has a raw, undeveloped character that feels like a deliberate counterpoint to Boracay's more commercial south.

The water here is choppier than at White Beach, facing north into the open Sibuyan Sea. Waves roll in throughout the year, making Puka Shell Beach more atmospheric than swimming-friendly (though swimming is possible during calmer periods). The beach is significantly wider than White Beach, and with fewer facilities, there's genuinely room to spread out — a rarity in this part of the Philippines.
